What Does "It Takes A Kingdom" Mean?

"It takes a village to raise a child" is a profound proverb signifying that an entire community must contribute to and engage positively with children to foster their development in a secure and nurturing environment. This year, West Lauderdale Elementary's theme for the 2024-2025 school year, "It Takes a Kingdom," aims to reinforce this vital mission. It serves as a reminder that every one of us plays a crucial role in interacting with and building positive relationships with our students, their families, and one another. By doing so, we strive to create an atmosphere where children feel safe, loved, and motivated to grow.

In our kingdom, we will emphasize several key pillars: the shield of faith (in our students and each other), the shield of knowledge and wisdom, the shield of relationship building, the shield of service, the shield of leadership, and the shield of protection (safety). It is our hope that this theme will inspire each of you to approach the new school year with enthusiasm, determination, and a sense of anticipation.

Together, let us embrace these principles and work collaboratively to achieve excellence.
